At the The Newcastle Meditation Centre, we offer a regular programme of drop-in classes, courses and workshops, as well as opportunities for groups and individuals to hire the space for their own meditation related activities.

Today meditation and mindfulness are more popular than ever, but finding out how to learn or practice meditation can be difficult and confusing. There are so many different techniques and teachings available: it is hard sometimes to know where to start.
The best way to learn how to meditate is by attending a class or workshop, such as the drop-in classes provided at the Centre. There is no substitute for learning with an experienced practitioner, and a group of other people on the same path.
Daytime Sessions: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11am
The standard drop-in meditation session, lasting 60 mins, suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners. Sessions comprise a brief introduction, two periods of silent meditation, and opportunities for sharing and reflections.
Early Evening Sessions: Tuesdays at 6pm
Early evening drop-in meditation session, lasting 50 mins, most suitable for people who may already have some experience of meditation, though beginners are always welcome. Sessions comprise two periods of silent meditation, with a short pause in between.
The Newcastle Mindfulness and Meditation Centre is a registered charity operating in Newcastle City Centre. We provide a safe, welcoming and ideologically neutral space, wholly dedicated to the learning and practice of mindfulness and meditation.
We believe it is the first independent high street meditation centre of its kind in the UK.
At the Centre you can attend drop-in classes, courses and workshops, together with a range of other activities, including research seminars, discussion groups and social events. Bespoke packages can also be arranged for groups and organisations.
Drop-in Classes, Courses and Workshops
We host a variety of courses, at different times throughout the year, as well as regular Saturday Afternoon Workshops on a wide range of topics related to mindfulness and meditation: the perfect way to deepen your understanding and practice.
It is our goal to make the benefits of meditation accessible, affordable and available to all.
The Centre is currently only open for drop-in classes and other scheduled activities. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
We are always keen to hear from people willing to volunteer at the Meditation Centre, whether by simply being there so that we can have the place open, or leading activities.

Groups and individuals are welcome to use the space for meditation and related activities, at reasonable rates for a prime city centre location.
Our upstairs meditation room has space to seat 24 people comfortably. Please be aware that unfortunately there is no lift.
We are always looking for people to facilitate courses and workshops at the centre. If you have a course or workshop you would like to deliver in central Newcastle, that is relevant to the practice of mindfulness and meditation, then please get in touch and lets have a chat about it.
The Newcastle Meditation Centre is easy to get to by public transport, being just a short walk from Central Station. There are a few parking meters on Westgate Road, and nearby carparks at Times Square and Grainger Town multi-story.
