The Newcastle

MEDITATION CENTRE

Independent and on the High Street

** Important Announcement **

The coronavirus outbreak has posed a very real threat to the survival of many organisations, both large and small. This is certainly true of the Meditation Centre, a small charity run entirely by volunteers.

We have had to face a combination of very challenging circumstances that, in spite of our best efforts, we have simply not been able to overcome. As a result, the Trustees have made the difficult decision to close the Centre and wind up operations permanently.

We know this will come as very disappointing news to many people, who will miss all that the Centre has been over the years.

We are very grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey; we literally couldn’t have done it without you.

Although the Centre will now remain closed, the online drop-in sessions will continue for the foreseeable future, and new courses and programmes are planned under the Just Meditation brand.

ABOUT

The Meditation Centre

The Newcastle Mindfulness and Meditation Centre operated as a registered charity in Newcastle City Centre from 2016-20. During this time, it provided a safe, welcoming and ideologically neutral space, wholly dedicated to the learning and practice of mindfulness and meditation.

We believe it was the first independent high street meditation centre of its kind in the UK.

At the Centre we offered attend drop-in classes, courses and workshops, together with a range of other activities, including research seminars, discussion groups and social events. Bespoke packages could also be arranged for groups and organisations.

Sadly, the Centre has now had to close permanently, as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.
