Mindfulness and Stress Michael Atkinson
Many people are attracted to meditation due to trauma or stress in their lives – and current research confirms the potential for meditation to relieve stress – but what is stress, what are its causes, and how can we manage it more effectively through meditation practices? This workshop will explore our stress triggers, and offer tips and techniques for managing and relieving the build up of stress.
Michael Atkinson is Director of School of Mindfulness, and has practiced and taught mindfulness for over 17 years. Michael also works at Newcastle University, where he teaches on a Masters programme in medical education. He has completed mindfulness teacher training with Mindfulness CIC in Leicester, and is currently researching the relationship between mindfulness and resilience.
